Created by former Duty Free World Council Manager Kshitij Goyal, DutyFreeList allows travellers to use this new app to explore the airport before they travel, thereby taking some of the guesswork out of their visit and allowing for some planning of the time they will spend there.
Goyal’s idea for DutyFreeList was born after he could not find a famous Japanese whisky at Tokyo International Airport.
What does the app do?
A traveller can explore the app for duty free shopping, for browsing food and drink options, booking airport parking, and checking airport lounge access. In addition to the services at the airport, one can also use the app to book tours and sight-seeing tickets for their destination city.
Why do we need this?
As travellers are becoming more informed about travel, they are shifting from impulse behaviour to a more planned approach. This app helps a traveller to know more about their journey.
What are the capabilities of this app?
DutyFreeList has listed more than 150 top airports worldwide in 20+ languages, therefore targeting close to 70% of air travellers.
Many travellers express the frustration of not knowing what type of stores or food and drink outlets to expect at their intended airport, specifically near or at their particular terminals and gates. The impact of connecting travellers to things they want or need in an airport while awaiting flights helps to de-stress passengers so they will enjoy their airport experience.
