Exploring St Lucia with an Island Tour – with video

by GO GlobeHopper

One of the best ways to explore the breathtaking island of Saint Lucia is with a Lucian Vibe Island Tour, which includes all the highlights.

The island of Saint Lucia is loaded with stunning tropical vistas in every direction you look.  From vivid mountain ranges to lush rainforest valleys to colorful fishing villages and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, there’s something to make visitors ooh and ahh at every turn.

Castries from the Lookout

To help tourists get a better look, as well as take a great photo to capture the memory, there are dozens of marked lookout areas that dot the scenic routes.

As a tourist, you could rent a car and attempt to navigate the island’s severely narrow twisting-turning roadways while avoiding wildlife and people and learning to drive on the opposite side (as part of the British Commonwealth, the island drives on the left).  Or, you could make it easy on yourself while you sit back and relax and actually enjoy the sightseeing experience with Lucian Vibe.

Traveling with this professional company is a great way to admire the beauty of Saint Lucia, with the option of luxury airport transfers, taxi services, and a number of tours and excursions.

Marigot Bay from above

Their #1 rated tour is the Island Vibe excursion which encompasses the majority of the island’s must-see natural attractions, including the beautiful Marigot Bay; the banana plantation of Roseau Valley; the fishing villages of Anse La Raye, Canaries, and Dennery; the Tille Waterfalls at Micoud, and the home of the iconic Pitons rising out of the sea at Soufriere. The Pitons are twin volcanic spires and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  A product of lava and home to a variety of birds and various wildlife, Petit Piton measures 743 m (2,438 ft) and Gros Piton, which can be seen in our lead photo, measures 798.25 m (2,618.9 ft) high.

Although you will likely get a glimpse of the Pitons from the air when you land at Hewanorra International Airport on the south end of the island, the views from the ground are even better.  Lucian Vibe knows where these views can be had and they will take you to several of them, to ensure you get the best experience possible.

Sulphur Springs Volcano

Next up is The Soufriere Experience which is a slightly different version of the tour that includes the world’s only drive-in volcano with the option of a mud and sulpha bath.  The islanders claim this experience will heal what ails you with the added benefit of making your skin look younger.  Some visitors might be deterred by the strong sulpha aroma which is akin to rotten eggs, but those who take the plunge end up loving it.  This tour also provides access to the picturesque Botanical Gardens with the gorgeous Diamond Waterfalls and, of course, the Pitons.  For adventurers and active tourists, there is also the option of including the Gros Piton climb at a height of 2619 feet.  This includes entrance fees, a seasoned guide, and bottled water. The climb can be done in approximately 4 hours for the roundtrip.

For tourists seeking unique keepsakes and souvenirs, Lucian Vibe also offers a shopping excursion that includes markets and a mall, along with a variety of restaurants.

Rodney Bay Marina

If a predetermined excursion doesn’t appeal to you, Lucian Vibe also accommodates custom tours where visitors can choose destinations and the areas of interest that appeal to them the most.

The great thing is, the tours are done in a comfortable, air-conditioned car, with experienced drivers that are more than happy to provide narration and answer any questions you might have.  They patiently wait as tourists explore destinations and lookout points, and they’re always on hand to take a group photo for you or recommend a good place to eat along the way.

We used Lucian Vibe for our airport transfers as well as our island tour as our video below indicates.  During this time, we experienced 3 different drivers and were not disappointed.  Each one was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.  We highly recommend this company for tourists heading to Saint Lucia.  Click HERE if you wish to book one of their tours or services.
