With the arrival of summer, Parisians and tourists adore sitting out on the terraces of cafes, brasseries and gastronomic restaurants. In recent years, there has been a flurry of outdoor spaces popping up just for the summer months; these are perfect places for an alfresco lunch, dinner or a drink in the city. Take a look at some great temporary terraces for summer 2019!
THE ROOF OF THE GRANDE ARCHE
The Grande Arche de La Défense, one of the landmarks of the Paris cityscape, will be putting on rooftop events with a gourmet twist this summer.
On the 1,000-m2 rooftop terrace of the Grande Arche, people can sample the wares of fine food purveyors (there’s a butcher’s counter, a caterer’s, wine specialists, a cocktail bar and more) and dance to DJ sets perched at a height of 110 metres while enjoying an all-encompassing view of Greater Paris.

Throughout the summer, the top floor of the car park at the Parc des Expositions will be transformed into a rooftop garden with different spaces where you can relax, attend a cultural event, meet up with people and, of course, quench your thirst.

THE PISCINE MOLITOR ROOFTOP
At Molitor, there is no beach or river, but there is an iconic Parisian art deco swimming pool. If you do not get to dive into its crystal clear water (reserved for guests of the hotel, the spa and the club Molitor), you can still gaze on it from the venue’s roof terrace, open until September only.
Enjoy house cocktails, grilled meat and fresh salads with electronic music playing in the background.
13 Rue Nungesser et Coli, Paris 16th
Metro : Porte d’Auteuil
To celebrate their 70th anniversary, Paris’s famous Bateaux-Mouches have installed a hanging garden on the rooftop of their landing stage, where you can enjoy Roaring Twenties-themed cocktail parties and DJ sets on the banks of the Seine with a superb view of the Eiffel Tower.
The pretty rooftop garden has a transparent dome tent where guests can take shelter if it rains.

THE TERRACE AT THE OFF
OFF Paris Seine, a one-of-a-kind floating hotel on the Seine, also has a charming poolside bar and terrace where you can sit back and gaze out over the river.
Wine, cocktails and tapas are served during the summer evening ritual of the apéritif, as well as breakfast or brunch on sunny mornings, away from the bustle of the city.
The bar at the OFF also puts on concerts and DJ sets at the weekend.
