Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is opening a new Iberostar Holguin, the resort company’s first five-star hotel in the province of Holguin. The debut is scheduled for November 15, 2018, as the hotel chain celebrates their 25th anniversary on the island.
This resort features 12 low-rise buildings, 6 of which contain 638 rooms and suites, including Presidential Suites with ocean views and private pools.
They also offer Star Prestige Services, which is an 18+ area on the resort offering a wide range of premium amenities. Guests opting for this adults-only experience can stay in an exclusive area, dine in an exclusive restaurant, sip on cocktails in an open bar lounge, and enjoy Bali Beds on a sun terrace, all without the interruption of children.
An extensive range of day and evening activities await guests, plus an animation theatre, live music shows, and salsa classes, while kids can splash around in the children’s pool or partake in activity programs designed just for them.
Also on the property for all guests of Iberostar Holguin are 4 swimming pools, 9 bars, and 7 restaurants including a standard buffet, a Star Prestige breakfast area, four à la carte restaurants and a snack bar on the beach. Dining options feature international and local dishes with touches of African, Asian, Japanese, and Spanish culinary traditions.
The resort is located on Playa Pesquero on the North Coast of Cuba, where coves and bays offer beaches of sugary white sand. Guardalavaca Beach, which is just 15 km from the hotel, offers one of the world’s largest coral reefs and is great for day trips of diving or snorkeling.
Other day trips that allow travelers to soak up Cuba’s geography, flora and fauna include La Mensura Nature Park, Sierra Cristal National Park, and Guayabo Waterfall.
For more of a city tour, travelers can explore the town of Banes, which is known as Cuba’s ‘capital of archaeology’. There is also the city of Holguin itself.
