Review of Ocean Eden Bay — Jamaica

This 5-star resort is designed for Adults-Only luxury vacations and is located on the turquoise seafront at Coral Spring, adjacent to the Ocean Coral Spring resort.  The property features modern facilities, including six restaurants, four bars and lounges, a private beach area, and a large oceanfront pool.  Additionally, guests of the resort have access to all Ocean Coral Spring’s amenities and services.

Accommodations

The entire complex is designed to reflect its Caribbean surroundings, which includes 144 bright and spacious suites with a broad spectrum of features including a Smart TV with international channels, a minibar, an in-room safe, coffee machine, climate control system, and a fully equipped bathroom with a whirlpool and rain shower.

The hotel offers Junior Suites, Swim-Up Junior Suites, Rooftop Junior Suites, Master Suites, and Privilege Suites, including the Privilege Junior Suites and the Privilege Rooftop Master Suites. The most impressive suites include the Swim-Up Junior Suites, which are located on the ground floor and have direct access to a swimming pool from their terrace, as well as the Privilege Swim-Up Junior Master Suites, with spacious rooms that include a separate living room and private terrace with a jacuzzi.

Dining

Ocean Eden Bay offers a wide variety of dining options with six international restaurants, including a buffet and five à la carte restaurants specializing in different types of cuisine. These include the Marlin Restaurant for seafood specialties, the Bluemoon Restaurant for French cuisine, and the Steak House, specializing in grilled meats. The elegant Senses Restaurant offers an innovative dining concept with a show, ideal for an evening experience.

Guests can also experience the restaurants at Ocean Coral Spring’s which includes ten restaurants, nine of which are international à la carte restaurants specializing in Italian, Asian, Jamaican, Indian and American cuisine, among others. Additionally, the sister resort offers nine bars, an ice cream shop, and Mike’s Coffee specialty cafeteria.

The resort also has four bars — by the swimming pool, on the hotel beach, in the lobby, and in the exclusive Privilege Lounge.

Other Amenities

This resort complex also features the Despacio Spa Centre, a wellness area with an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. The spa offers massage services, facial and body treatments, and a hair salon. It also houses a 24-hour gym.

Additional activities include a lazy river ride, tennis courts, a bowling alley, a multi-sports court plus a diving center. In the evenings, guests can enjoy live music and shows.

The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi in all of its facilities and has an Internet Corner and car park, also free of charge for guests.

Event Space

The hotel complex has four meeting rooms, equipped for meetings or celebrations. These rooms have movable partitions and are capable of being grouped together for a capacity of up to 800 people. The resort also features stellar outdoor space for events with sea views.

 

Pros: Rooms are indeed spacious, modern, and clean.  Friendly and helpful staff.  The Blue Team activities team gets high praise for helping to make vacations enjoyable and exciting.

Cons: Front desk and check-in services are slow.  Food quality is hit and miss depending on the restaurant. Room service could use some improvement.
