What could be more relaxing than soaking in a warm bath and indulging in the serenity? Perhaps adding your favourite bath salts or bubbles would notch up the experience.  Or, you could add soothing music to the mix.  But, no doubt, the icing on the cake would have to be a stunning view.

There are several hotels around the world that boast tubs with a picturesque panorama, but how about an entire country of hotels that offer a beautiful bubble bath?  Switzerland is that country!  This mountainous Central European country is home to picture perfect panoramas that include lakes and villages and the impressive peaks of the Alps.  So, an overwhelming number of hotels and resorts feature oversized windows in the bathrooms, so that tub lovers can soak a little longer with a lovely landscape.

Hotel Arnica – Adults Only

The 3 star superior hotel was expanded by a spectacular, elliptical-shaped construction made of stone pine wood in 2012. It has become famous for its modern style and designer rooms. The hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, but it features a “dine around”, where, thanks to the cooperation with seven different restaurants, guests can enjoy a varied culinary experience.

Surrounded by pristine nature and the Engadin mountains, Hotel Arnica offer stunning views right from the bathtub thanks to large glass facades.


Hotel Bären

The 3-star Hotel Bären is situated in car-free Wengen, approx. 350 m from the train station. There is a great view of the Jungfrau and the Lauterbrunnen valley. Some of the hotel’s 16 rooms feature a balcony, while all offer a private bathroom and a flatscreen cable TV.

In the restaurant and on the sunny terrace, seasonal dishes made with regional produce are offered.  For children, there is a playground and playroom.  And for tub lovers, Hotel Bären presents the opportunity for guests to enjoy uninterrupted views of the mountains.


Hotel Matterhorn Focus

As quite possibly our favourite of the 10 hotels listed, here, Hotel Matterhorn Focus is architecturally ornate and in a perfect location.  Almost all suites, deluxe doubles, superior doubles and family rooms come with a view of the Matterhorn. It takes mountain hikers and winter sports enthusiasts only two minutes to get to the Zermatt-Klein-Matterhorn bottom station through an underground passage.  Having opened for business in 2008, the magazine “Geo Saison” voted the Focus in 7th place in Europe in the Newcomer category.

With their large glass façades, the suites at Hotel Matterhorn Focus are flooded with natural daylight and feature wonderful views of the Zermatt mountains from every corner of the room – particularly from the bathtub!


Hotel Marina Lachen

This is an exclusive 4-star hotel on the shore of Lake Zurich with a view of Rapperswil Castle.  Stylish accommodations include designer rooms and suites. The hotel is part of a mile-long dining and leisure experience with three restaurants, a wine gallery, osteria, and Asian cuisine, with seasonal culinary events. The bar lounge is known locally as a fashionable meeting place.

Amenities include free mountain bikes for guests.  Located adjacent to the marina, Hotel Marina Lachen is just 700 metres from the station and just 20 minutes from Zurich.

Hotel Meisser

The hillside location itself on the edge of the small village of Guarda is breathtaking enough! The hotel consists of two beautifully decorated 15th-century Engadin buildings. Additional amenities include seminar and banquette facilities, free use of E-bikes.  Located just 5 minutes on foot from the town center, there is also opportunity for dining and shopping.  When you return to your room and need to rest after being on your feet all day, climb into the tub and soak away your aching muscles while admiring the spectacular views.
