Cabo San Lucas Marina
A walk by Cabo San Lucas Marina is a not-to-be-missed activity on your next visit to Los Cabos. Either by day or by night, the marina is a must-see during your stay.
Be sure to take a photo by the iconic #Cabo sign.
Hiking at Costa Azul Canyon
If you’re up for an adventure and like being in contact with nature, then the Costa Azul Canyon is your perfect hiking spot.
To get there, go to the Transpeninsular Highway and if you take a bus, get off at the Costa Azul stop. If you are driving, just park your car where the trail starts. Bring a water bottle and enjoy the view.
Climb Mount Z
Another great spot for nature lovers— Mount Z is the perfect place for those who enjoy long walks. Locals exercise here since the path is marked clearly and when you get to the top, the view to both the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez is breathtaking.
Bring water bottles as well, and don’t forget your camera to capture the most incredible photos.
Whale Watching
Whale Watching season in Los Cabos encompasses mid-December to mid-April, with an estimated 10,000 whales migrating south to breeding grounds at Magdalena Bay and in the Sea of Cortez. Grays and humpbacks are plentiful; however, the odd pilot whale, blue, or sperm, along with a random orca can also be seen. Tour boats are in abundance, BUT you don’t necessarily have to sign up for a tour to enjoy sightings. Whales are often seen from the beaches, as well as from hotels and coastal golf courses. And some tourists even venture to swim among them.
Playa Santa María
Playa Santa María is not quite as popular as Playa Chileno, but this beautiful horseshoe-shaped beach is definitely worth a visit.
The protected bay includes a marine sanctuary, and there is a colorful array of marine life visible here, which accounts for the abundance of dive and snorkel tours in the area. To save money, bring your own equipment if you have it.
Estero De San José Del Cabo
Once a freshwater stop for Spanish ships, San José del Cabo’s estuary is fed by the San José River and is now best known as a bird and wildlife sanctuary home to hundreds of avian species. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to view hundreds of colorful birds, including herons, pelicans, coots, cactus wrens, frigate birds, ducks, and red-tailed and sparrow hawks. This is one of the most beautiful walks in Los Cabos, with accessibility from the Zona Hotelera, or from the downtown area.
San José del Cabo’s Art Walk
This event takes place every Thursday evening from 5 – 9 pm, November thru June. You can enjoy a fun night stroll by San Jose del Cabo’s art galleries, in the famous Gallery District, and drink a glass of wine while observing the work of talented artists. You can also enjoy a pleasant walk by its magical streets, visit Plaza Central (Main Square), San Jose Cathedral, or cross Antonio Mijares Boulevard. More info at artcabo.com
Las Viudas and Palmilla Beach
The hidden paradise of Las Viudas Beach is likely the most private beach you will find. It is located within the Tourist Corridor.
Another option is Palmilla Beach, with crystal-clear waters and gentle waves.
You can bring your cooler with drinks and snacks to both beaches, so you can save money.
The Bike Lane
On Sundays from 7 – 11 am, Lázaro Cardenas Avenue turns into a place where families get together to walk, run, ride their bikes, walk their pets or take a Zumba, Dance or Muay Thai class.

Sunsets and Starry Skies

Sunsets in the Pacific are simply unique, and in Los Cabos, there is a perfect spot to watch glorious sunsets, and mind-blowing starry skies once the night kicks in; it’s called Migriño Beach, and it’s located 30 minutes away from Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific side.
Bring a flashlight, some snacks, and enjoy this magical experience.
