What to Expect at Bahia Principe Grand Cayacoa

by GO GlobeHopper

Bahia Principe’s Grand Cayacoa resort is situated eastern end of the Dominican Republic, and though it is among the smaller resort properties belonging to Bahia, it offers guests an excellent opportunity to relax in the gorgeous landscape overlooking Samana Bay.  And, as part of their all-inclusive collection, it provides a variety of family-friendly activities and high-end services and amenities.

The recently re-opened resort contains 284 guest rooms and suites, including three layout options – Standard, Standard Sea View, and Junior Suite Superior – each of which offers the choice of two full-size beds or one king bed.  Room features include a satellite TV, a mini bar, an in-room safe, a coffee and tea machine, air conditioning and ceiling fan, a hydromassage tub, and a balcony.  Though the decor is a little dated, the rooms are clean and spacious.

Grand Cayacoa includes unlimited Wi-Fi, gorgeous views, and beach access with umbrellas and towel service.  Guests can enjoy the hotel’s pools and one hour per day of free paddle surf, kayaks, or snorkeling. Dive lessons are available in the pool pending availability.  The resort also boasts a spa, a teen’s club, themed events, dance classes, sports and leisure activities including sunrise yoga, and much more. The property features three pools, five restaurants, four bars, and unlimited drinks at all hotel bars with a large selection of domestic liquors and beers.

Guests can take advantage of plenty of activities located on the Samana Peninsula including whale spotting, snorkeling, caving, horseback riding, buggy rides, tours of coffee plantations, and a boat trip to Los Haitises National Park, the largest mangrove forest in the Caribbean.
