What to Expect at Conrad Bora Bora Nui – with video

by GO GlobeHopper

Bora Bora is a destination that lands on many travelers’ bucket lists.  This picture-perfect paradise is well-known for its over-the-water accommodations and luxury resorts, and there are several to choose from.  This is what to expect if you choose Conrad Bora Bora Nui, which is located on the private island of Motu To’opua.  Guests of the resort have access to the longest stretch of private white-sand beach while nestled between the turquoise lagoon and the impressive backdrop of  Mount Otemanu.

Right off the bat, this is a 5-star resort with most guests scoring it exceptional on all levels.  Guests have their choice of an astounding 14 accommodation types — eight different room styles and six suite layouts, with suites allowing for extra room and a personal butler.  Rooms and suites are located in villas and bungalows, and though some layouts tend to look the same, the views differ with garden or lagoon options.  All accommodations feature Polynesian decor and air conditioning plus ceiling fans, wood laminate flooring, electronic safes, mini-bar, coffeemaker, TV and internet access, Waterpik Showerheads, robes and slippers, a hairdryer, and iron and board.  Suites expand their amenities with the addition of dining tables and chairs, workstations, blackout curtains, Espresso machines, HDTV, and Bluetooth sound systems.  Many rooms and suites, depending on their location, come with private plunge pools.

Conrad Bora Bora Nui contains five restaurants and bars that range from casual to fine dining.  These include a daily buffet breakfast, plus Iriatai for French cuisine, Tamure for Mediterranean and Polynesian cuisine, and Banyan for Chinese and seafood.  On-site, there is also an authentic Polynesian dinner and show that takes place on the beach, as well as unique destination dining where guests can choose from a picnic lunch on the island, a candle-lit dinner on the beach, or on the terrace of their suite.  Bars include the casual comfort of the Tarava Pool Bar or the upscale Upa Upa Lounge that features a glass floor with views of the lagoon.

A fitness center and upscale spa is available on the property, along with wedding services and conference space.  Activities on the property include watersports such as snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddleboards, and bicycle boats.  Land activities include yoga and pilates instruction, beach volleyball, a tennis court, billiards, and table tennis. Cultural activities feature ukelele lessons, Tahitian language lessons, and more.  In-room child care and supervised children’s activities are also available.

Of course, such an experience does not come cheap with a standard room averaging $1000+ per night at one end of the scale and the Presidential Overwater Villa at the other end averaging $4000+.  All other rooms and suites are priced somewhere between. However, prices fluctuate from season to season and there are good deals to be found.  For the most up-to-date rates and deals, visit Conrad Bora Bora Nui.
