National Park Service App

by GO GlobeHopper

These days, almost everything comes with an app.  And when it comes to travel apps, there are dozens of new ones on the market every month.  So, it makes sense that the National Park Service (NPS) has developed one that assists in planning a visit.

Simply called National Park Service and available on Apple and Android devices, this app encompasses 423 NPS units and includes such information as accommodations and reservations, accessibility, audio tours, maps, hiking suggestions, and much more. News alerts and updated information are continuously uploaded to help users stay current.

The app is free to download, includes a customizable homepage, and allows users the unique feature of sending virtual postcards.  It also contains information and how and where to collect national park passport stamps.

The app is a work in progress so users might notice that some park info seems lacking at the present time. However, as the NPS continues to improve and add to the app, it will soon be fully loaded and a ‘must-have’ for anyone planning a visit to any of the national parks.
