Whistler, BC is well-known as Canada’s ideal ski destination, with the added bonus of being the perfect place for snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and dogsledding. During the summer, it offers hiking and biking trails, as well as fishing and boating opportunities, and stunning views from the Peak 2 Peak Gondola – a 4.4 kilometer-long lift that retains 3 Guinness World Records for its mammoth size. If your travel plans include this area and you’re looking for accommodations, read on for our review of Delta’s Whistler Village Suites
All year round, Whistler Village is abuzz with activity. Visitors can stroll through town to explore art galleries and artisan shops or kick back and enjoy one of many restaurants in the region. So no matter which season travelers might be partial to, Whistler is a year-round haven. And with that in mind, we’d like to recommend a recently renovated 4-star hotel that tends to score well with guests and offers a memorable experience.
The Delta Whistler Village Suites has plenty to offer, including free wi-fi, an outdoor pool, 2 outdoor hot tubs, a sauna, fitness room, babysitting, coin-operated laundry, a concierge desk, conference facilities, daily housekeeping, laundry/valet service, multilingual staff, banquet facilities, and Bell staff/porter.
The hotel is located close to the free local shuttle to the ski lift and is pet-friendly in case you just can’t bring yourself to leave Sparky and Fluffy at home. A bar is handily located on the main floor, and two restaurants can be found onsite – Brickworks Public House and Hy’s Steakhouse. And the views… to die for!
Room types at this hotel include cozy Mode rooms and larger one and two-bedroom suites which are perfect for families or groups. Both options are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Whereas Mode rooms are essentially standard rooms, the one, and two-bedroom suites come with fully equipped kitchenettes, a compact washer and dryer so you can skip the coin-operated laundry and valet services, and a beautifully appointed sitting area complete with a cozy fireplace.
Two-bedroom suites also come with an extra bathroom. It is to be noted that, although suites are quite spacious, mode rooms and conversely quite small and cramped.
PROS: Convenient location. Clean and Comfortable. Well Maintained. The staff is friendly. Suites are roomy. Off-season rates are reasonable.
CONS: Rates are excessive during peak season. Parking is an additional fee and is also expensive. Standard rooms are too cramped. The hotel is very busy, hallways can get noisy. The pool is small.
