What to Expect at Kimpton Shorebreak, Fort Lauderdale

by GO GlobeHopper

Formerly the Kimpton Goodland, the recently-branded Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach provides guests with an upscale experience with on-property activities including music and mixology, fitness and wellness, and more.

Located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale’s North Beach Village neighborhood, this pet-friendly hotel is just steps from the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, as well as downtown’s buzzing social scene. Guests won’t have to venture far to explore the region’s eclectic mix of attractions, shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

Decorated in coastal colors, the lobby features plush seating and rattan accent chairs with mid-century light fixtures hanging above. At check-in, guests are greeted with a welcome cocktail, and those traveling with pets are welcomed with water bowls, doggie waste bags, leashes, and treats at no extra cost.

Guest Room

This three-level resort features 96 guest rooms, including two junior suites, each located among airy hideaways and scenic courtyards filled with lush tropical flora. Clean and stylish accommodations feature a nod to the past with vintage-inspired turquoise Galanz mini-refrigerators and Marshall Bluetooth speakers with a QR code linked to the resort’s curated Spotify playlist to set any mood.

The minimalist bathrooms are adorned with black-and-white chevron tiled floors, bright surfaces, glass-enclosed showers, and Atelier Bloem bath amenities.

Adjacent to the lobby, visitors will discover the on-site restaurant of La Fuga, meaning “the escape,” with a diverse menu of contemporary coastal Italian cuisine by Chef Michael Mayer and a wide selection of house spritzes, seasonal craft cocktails, and local beer and wine. The indoor-outdoor space includes views of the hotel’s scenic courtyard, plus a private dining room for intimate events or meetings.  The hotel also hosts a seasonal s’mores happy hour every Friday and Saturday around a hidden fire pit.

Pool with Bar

Two pools and tropical gardens offer relaxation for guests, as do the hotel’s pathways and courtyards, which are the perfect setting for yoga, or a cold drink… not to mention Instagrammable photos.

No visit to South Florida is complete without a trip to Fort Lauderdale’s world-famous beaches. The resort provides guests with beach transportation on a branded ’57 Bel Air golf cart, two beach chairs per guest room in partnership with Boucher Brothers, boogie boards, kids’ toys, and beach towels. Curated picnic experiences are available for guests upon request.

Wellness is a key component of Kimpton Shorebreak, thanks to an ongoing schedule of health and wellness programming. The resort houses a well-equipped fitness center complete with Technogym cardio machines, a free-weight section, and a cable machine to fit anyone’s workout routine. Complimentary branded bicycles are also available for those looking to tour downtown Fort Lauderdale while boosting their adrenaline.

Courtyard

Wellness enthusiasts are encouraged to bring out their yoga mats on the courtyard or rooftop deck or beach. And, through a partnership with  Cycleward Studio, vacationers are invited to participate in a morning spin class using promo code Kimpton.
